Abtech Safety and Safety Technology Limited, two leading providers of fall protection solutions, are today announcing plans to merge their operations.

The merger, which will be complete as of April 2024, sees the two companies come together to form a single entity under the Abtech Safety brand.

“This merger is a significant step forward for both Abtech Safety and Safety Technology Limited, and will help strengthen the Cresto Alliance, overall” said Patrik Malterling, CEO of Cresto Group. “This move is part of a wider strategy that will enable Cresto Alliance to leverage the expertise and capabilities of our companies to better ensure that work at heights takes place safely and efficiently in all environments.”

A newly formed Abtech Safety will continue to provide products and solutions for working at heights, fall protection and rescue, to customers across a range of sectors, including distribution networks, utilities, and renewable energy.

“This merger is a natural progression for both Abtech Safety and Safety Technology Limited, and we are excited about the opportunities it presents for us and our customers,” said Sally Love, Business Manager for Abtech Safety. “By coming together, we will be able to offer an even wider range of safety solutions.”

Safety Technology has over 20 years of experience providing safety solutions to utilities, renewables and general industry customers.

The merger will see Robin Jones, Group Financial Controller of Safety Technology Limited, take on a new role at Abtech Safety. He said: “This is an exciting time for both companies, and I am looking forward to working with the team to ensure a smooth transition. Safety Technology Limited customers will be updated on any developments over the next 11 months, but in the meantime its business as usual.”

“We look forward to being able to offer a wider range of safety training, while continuing to deliver GWO courses to technicians in the wind energy sector.” said Jones. “This merger is an exciting opportunity for us to build on our strengths and to better serve our customers.”

The new Abtech Safety entity will begin trading as of April 2024, with all existing contracts and agreements being honoured. Customers of Abtech Safety and Safety Technology Limited can expect to receive the same high level of service and support, with the added benefit of access to a wider range of solutions and services.
